December 12 - Day 11
Today was a everyone's first day back to our routine. Back to school, back to work, back to daycare!
Being as I had been out so many days I chose to spend this day making up hours and it caused me not to be able to go to the gym. GOAL not met.
Breakfast
Advocare Fiber Drink Calories 70
Coffee with Carmel Machiatto sugar free creamer Calories 100
Banana Calories 105
Lunch
2 Pickles (FREE CALORIES!!!!)
Mozarella Cheese Stick Calories 80
I do not recommend this as a good lunch!! I actually packed my lunch (a salad and a chicken breast) but for some reason wasn't that hungry and got busy so I didn't end up eating it.
Dinner
I baked chicken but didn't end up eating it because I ate a late snack (umm cause I skipped lunch basically)
So my dinner? Cereal
Honey Bunches of Oats 1 cup (measured) Calories 120
2% Milk 1 cup (measured) Calories 130
I did drink my spark! I am not sure how I ever lived with out it, truly! Calories 45
Another cup of sugar free hot cocoa with itty mallow bits! Calories 80
I forgot to tell you when I went back to Drinking my Fiber Shakes in the morning it also has 2 Probiotic pills that go with it that I also took each day including this day. I also think there was a "snow day" that I didn't make my water goal. It's like you just lose track of life when you are stuck inside. And it all starts so well. You are excited to have a day at home to clean and organize (because I'm a weirdo and I love to organize) and then as the days drag on longer and longer than expected you loose your drive and I swear become zombified (yes I made that word up too). By the last day I was just chasing my tail. I would make breakfast for my kiddos and which ever neighbor kids that happen to be there. Then by the time I cleaned up after that I would move to playing in the living room with the kids. As you can imagine this has to be picked up periodically throughout the day...toys, game controllers, books, movies...diapers that Aubrey has pull out of her basket ...BAGGIES that she pulled out of a drawer and then pulled each one out of the box!! OH MY they can accomplish a lot at 1 years old!!! In addition to any random socks or blankets or WHATEVER that may get left lying around. So once you feel pretty good about getting all of that picked up...well you know you have to go back into your clean kitchen and make lunch. So once that is over with you clean it up and well you know around and around you go with the same routine through dinner. Thus while after a few days of this...ZOMBIFIED! LOL

Dec 5, 6 &7 = Day 4, 5 &6
My truest desire was to go back & add an entry for each day. However, the older I get the faster my memory fades! I was keeping track of stuff in my head until it all started to blur together. I thought better to go ahead&recap before I forget everything!
So my Thursday morning was good. Coffee Calories 80 - Devotion - Work on time! Wonderful!
Took my Advocare ProBiotic Restore x2 all three mornings&herbal cleanse all the evenings.
I thought this Thursday morning I would be a clever girl&wear my workout clothes to work (while they were clean) go to the gym afterward&then just go home to shower&change. This way no shoes of any kind could be forgotten! Well I didn't believe the weather was going to be that bad, after all we just had a false alarm like moments ago. But because the weather really did turn bad we rushed home to beat the ice &no workout. This failed goal will be repeated on Friday&Sat as well.
For food consumption I'm going to skip itemizing &tell you it started well. Breakfast bar for breakfast, meal replacement bar for lunch I had a spark in there somewhere &then when I got home I simply lost my mind. I baked homemade pizza with a wheat pizza dough from a can&much better homemade spaghetti sauce, freshly grated mozzarella&topped it with pepperoni. It all went south with I miss calculated the calories for this pizza (which I didn't figure out until after I had a handful of popcorn) by then it was just too late! I thought I was eating about 600 calories for dinner, &I had so many left because I ate so well earlier so I ate more pieces than I would have if I hadn't tried to calculate in my head. So, if you are NOT a math person as I am not you too should refrain from attempting math in your head. The result is a failed calorie goal (I think). I did drink all my water this day so at least one goal was met.
Friday I ate around 1350 calories. I actually tracked them in myfitnesspal app.
This day was another delicious spark&meal replacement combo! One cup of coffee only! Lunch was a sandwich with Sun dried tomato turkey as before. Snacks were key lime yogurt & 5 Ritz crackers. For dinner I ate left over pizza but only 2 pieces since the calories are still kind of a mystery. (I counted 500 this time, 250 for each piece) Even though I didn't get to go to the gym this unexpected "day at home" was very productive! I did laundry until I felt sorry for my washer for having to work so hard! I got all clothes that were to small &or the wrong season sorted & boxed up. Only the children's clothes fall into the category of "to small" this fatgirlnomo currently doesn't have any clothes in the closet that are too small! I'm just celebrating This little victory because to be honest I don't know when, if EVER this has been the case. All bed linens were washed, every Towel, sock, bib, pillow, I could find was washed! All in all a good day! Water goal, met.
By Saturday I needed a break from laundry! I logged 1160 calories. Breakfast was slept through. .. on purpose! What fun to just sleep in. I still had coffee but just ate lunch. Salad! Two of my neighbor girls had lunch with me. Pictures below. .I introduced my new little friends to fetta cheese. And dinner was chicken alfredo. When my little neighbor kids heard this everyone wanted to come over for dinner! This obviously was done with baked chicken, wheat pasta & light alfredo sauce. It was a success&second were served. We topped this off with smoothies! Also a success&second were served. !!! This also has a video that I may show you In tomorrow's blog. We had a great day! The little neighbir girls stayed the night& even got to listen in on our Advocare team call. ..start'em early!
Blog goal - fail, fail, met!
Calories - fail, met, met
Water- met, met, met
Cardio &workout -epic fail

Dec 4 = Day 3
I decided my previous thought about ditching coffee was psychotic, I mean really. I love it so much. It's so warm and comforting and such a wonderful way to start your day! So I had 2 cups with sugar free creamer! Calories 80 and worth EVERY ONE! Bonus? I used it to take my Advocare Catalyst x1
Garron decided he wanted to get up early and ride the bus, I actually woke up early like normal so I had my coffee...alone...in the dark...in the quiet...I'm still reminiscing because I love it so much! LOL
Drank my Advocare Fiber Drink (Peaches and Cream) Calories 70
He got off to school, I got the babies up, I got us all ready and early to work I went this morning!!!
Banana for breakfast Calories 105
INSERT SPARK!!!! Calories 45
One bottle O'water it was another tiny one 11oz
Lunch - left over Chicken "not really fried" Rice. As predicted, it certainly made an appearance in a future blog. Calories 243ish (it was a substantially smaller portion than the original) Waste not, want not ...I'll just let you guess who I got that old chestnut from!
add in another tiny water bottle
Yes I could just go out to my car and get a full 16.5oz bottle of water because yes I carry them around in my trunk (usually) HOWEVER who would watch my library desk? I mean that would be very irresponsible of me to leave it unmanned. It is after all finals week and the printing that is going on in here is way more than normal. At .5 cents per page I wouldn't want the college to miss out on any prints because I wasn't here to collect the money. It's been so crazy in here I'm like a cheap toll booth...I've got nickels flying at me from every direction! *please note, the previous story is slightly (but not much) exaggerated because I think it's funnier that way.
Today is the day I realize the paper I printed to track my workout was only set for Monday Wednesday and Friday. Arms on Monday Friday and Legs on Wednesday. Next week switched Legs 2 days etc. So now I know why there are all these post on Facebook for "leg day"...umm it was supposed to be today. It's fine though I'll do cardio today and tomorrow and back to arms on Friday. This is all probably for the better, I mean how much talking can you do while doing cardio anyway...NOT MUCH...I mean it sounds more like sputters and sentence fragments in between deep gasping breaths. Yes, it was better that I did legs with my friend and cardio by myself. The only thing that would make it better would be if everyone would quietly excuse themselves from the gym while I'm "fast walking" on the treadmill ... that would be fantastic! The more of me that is jiggling at a
Once in the car I drank a full size water as I headed to the gym but guess what? NO GYM SHOES!!! So I race through the catalog of my mind searching every page to figure out where they could be and why would they not be in my gym bag? And then my brain came to a screeching halt when I landed on the memory of an itty bitty 2 year old tromping around in pink and gray Nikes (unless you are from the UK in which case they were pink and grey). I specifically remember how funny he thought it was and how he wanted me to look at him as he walked out onto the porch. I even told him to be careful. Unfortunately there is no page in my memory catalog that has me following up with where he left those shoes, this is due to the fact that it never happened...there was no page of me saying, let me put those back in my bag, there is no clue as to where he left them. Now I'm only left with a new page that says:
NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO GYM WORKOUT!!!
hmmmph
This left me wondering if I should Sharpie on some shoe laces on my feet and see if they will pass for flesh colored "toe shoes".
So I head home with the idea in mind that if I can find my shoes (which were behind the couch, just in case you were wondering), change into my gym clothes and get out the door in enough time I might still get a workout in. -seems like there should be some witty pun inserted here in reference to workout/in. But there isn't.
Unfortunately that gym trip didn't happen. So I have another plan! I'll go get the babies from daycare slap them in the double stroller and take a brisk walk several times around the neighborhood. Yes! this is a good plan in deed!!!! After I stopped by the store, loaded up the kids from daycare, got home, started picking up the house, answered some text, made a few phone calls, put in a load of laundry and put dinner on...well you can see where this is going...I completely forgot about my plan. No gym, no walk, no goal met today.
Dinner was really not that great of a success either. Calories wise it was totally great, taste wise...well not so much. We had spaghetti (wheat pasta of course!) Calories 180 Spaghetti Sauce, Light No Sugar Added Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce (Ragu) Calories 50 with 97% Fat Free Ground White Turkey Calories 140...somewhere in the last two ingredients lies the problem. I just don't know what of these two exactly made this a nasty little meal. I usually make my own spaghetti sauce but this one was LIGHT and NO SUGAR ADDED!! And I'm an adventurous soul....so I thought yeah! Why NOT??? This will be much easier for me. But I am not entirely convince it was solely the fault of the sauce..no ...I'm sure the turkey was a large contributing factor. Normally I would use a ground beef that is only 7% fat (because the calories are practically the same as turkey) or if I due have ground turkey I will mix it with the ground beef for this exact reason, it's just not that good. We will just call a "redo" on this meal and move on. There was a bonus, you don't eat as much when it doesn't taste good. That is a FREE TIP! Advocare OmegaPlex x2 was taken with this meal.
Due to the totally UN-fantastic meal a Key Lime flavored Greek yogurt was a serious MUST. 160 Calories
This evening my little guy was rummaging around in the DVDs trying to find a cartoon. He pulls out a DVD with cute little dolphins on the front and asks what's this? I say Oh, that is actually momma swimming with the dolphins in Cancun. This is from a vacation several years ago. So of course in it goes. Garron my oldest son is 11. He is engrossed in some electronic at this point...when he finally looks up to see what Preston is watching he says, "Oh MY GOSH mom you were really fat!" ...well Garron tell me how you really feel! That's not rude at all. Then he immediately saves himself by saying, "not now mom, now you're perfect". And with that...
Per my routine I drank one bottle of water with dinner and one at bedtime while taking my last Catalyst x1 and my Advocare Herbal Cleanse caplets x3

Dec 3 = Day 2
This morning I woke up late...AGAIN! (if you knew me you would know why this is so ridiculous, I get up early EVERY morning) In my defense I have been sick for 2 weeks and am just now feeling better and my daughter Aubrey has been sick for a week. When she is sick she wakes up multiple times in the middle of the night and it is like having a new born all over again. I seriously need to get adjusted so my every blog doesn't start out with...I woke up late...that is such a dumb way to start a blog...again.
What you need to understand is that yesterday (Monday) was the first day I have taken Garron to school. He could ride the bus which would require him to get up an hour earlier but for his sake, our neighbor has taken him with her boys since she drops hers off at school. WELL this lady moved over the weekend. Thus the new routine of driving him to school. Since I woke up late I told Garron to see if he could catch a ride with (a different neighbor) so I wouldn't have to be rushed to make him tardy. You know my back up plan neighbor. The good news here is that even my back up plan has failed because she decide to start making her kids ride the bus unbeknownst to me!
I am telling you this sorted story so you will understand why things didn't work out so well for me, that's all.
The next few minutes were quite frantic! It was some kind of hazy whirlwind of Garron (my 10 year old) putting on Preston's shoes (on the wrong feet) me putting clothes on Aubrey, Aubrey in the car seat, the car seat in the car...and true story because I didn't want to waste the coffee...into a to-go cup it went. (Calories approx 50) Not wasting would truly make my mom proud! (WHY IS MY MOM IN EVERY BLOG SO FAR???) I have serious issues.
Moving on, late to school we went. I dropped the babies off at daycare which is conveniently located right in front of Garron's school.
Meanwhile back at the story I get a call from her doctor and they tell me they can get her in in 30 minutes (her doctor is at least 20 minutes away). Whatever I took it! Like a maniac I rushed to get out the door to pick Aubrey back up from day care and zoom us over to the doctor (to which we were also late).
AND YOU THOUGHT I was going to say forgetting my Advocare...and that assumption would be INCORRECT! I woke up late two mornings in row there is NO WAY I was going to forget the very reason I am blogging two days in a row too!!! I can be retarded people but I am also very determined. I will complete this 24 day challenge before the New Year!!! GOODNESS! So I put a meal replacement shake (berry) and my spark (fruit punch) in the same shaker cup and slammed it down on my way to work. Calories 265
YUMMY!
Only 1 bottle of water so far :( and it was only 11oz
I took 1 Advocare Catalyst 2 times, but all at once.
As I sit at work, typing this out I'm thinking ...man tomorrow...gonna be fantastic! My boss then walks up to me and asks if I can be to work early tomorrow! !! BWAAHAHAHA! If only he knew, if only he were a blog reader... if only...Cross your fingers people cause tomorrow is going to be amazing!
After work I took an Advocare SLAM 10 Calories (before my workout)
COMPLETED a FULL Adult size bottle of water
Today is leg day. So I only did 5 min Cardio just to warm up.
Work Out
Standing Leg Curl 10x10 both sets
Seated Leg Curl 10x12 both sets
Seated Leg Calf Raises 95x12 Set 1 95x20 Set 2 - cause I don't think that was enough weight but it seemed easier to just do it more times than to adjust the weight.
Seated Leg Press 95x12 on both sets
Hip Adduction 10x60 Set 1 10x50 set 2 *no clue as to what this was really "working out"
Low Back Extensions 105x15 both sets
GLUTE (this is the name that was on the machine) 12x30 both sets
Leg Extension 45x12 both sets
Squats 15x10 both sets
COMPLETED another bottle of water after my workout
This workout was accomplished with my friend, cousin and fellow Advocare Distributor/Advisor Angela Webster. We went to her gym and had to learn these machines and it still seemed to go by surprisingly fast. I'm sure this is due in part to the fact that we were probably talking as much as we were lifting...I'm just say'n.
Snack (after the gym because I was starving) 5 Wheat Ritz Crackers Calories 70
Dinner I simply at a sandwich
I did however try a new bread! EXCITING!!! Well wheat can be dry to begin with and surely after a few days it can leave something to be desired so I tried Sara Lee - Soft & Smooth, Made With Whole Grain White Bread, 2 slices Calories 120
Sun Dried tomato Turkey (from the Deli) 2 slices Calories 100
Monterrey Jack Cheese Calories 70
Mustard, Lettuce and Tomato sprinkled with garlic salt Calories (too few to count) FREE!!!
Dinner total calories 290
With this meal I took Advocare OmegaPlex x2 pills
One More bottle of water
Mmmm good but not very much so I surely need to eat all my calories...right? So I went a head and made a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats Calories190 with 2% Milk Calories 140. Oh yes people I counted out 21 biscuits ....LOL
Calorie Total 330
Bedtime - Another bottle of water and my Herbal Cleanse caplets x3
Today I finally got the MyFitnessPal app to download on my phone (I've used this one before) so I didn't have to manually keep up with adding and google each item...I know that's so much work! It will also keep track of my water and my exercise so I like it.

COMPLETED 1 Bottle water during workout
Mood - Exhausted while equally exhilarated!!!
***INSERT FORGOTTEN WORK SHOES***
Freshened up and off to work...in my gym clothes. GROSS I know but I had no choice other than to wear my Nike tennis shoes with the dress I brought. Oh well it could be worse. So much for my perfect plans and my efficient one item outfit!
At work by 11:30 COMPLETED 2nd bottle of water
The rest of the day is just a blurr... Just kidding
At Lunch I ate a salad (in a baggie) with a small baked chicken breast in there a long with some light Italian dressing. Chicken (maybe 164 calories? that's what I googled) Dressing 35 Calories, salad 8 calories per cup (so says google) so I will say 12 calories to be safe!
I ate my salad in a baggie out of necessity (you know the mother of invention). It actually worked out quite well...almost. I squirted a little dressing, added in my chicken pieces, zipped it up and gave it a toss. All was groovy until I ambitiously stabbed the chicken with my plastic fork at which point my baggie suffered severe puncture wounds. (it didn't make it) Unfortunately for my baggies they are doomed after one use anyway (sorry mom, no washing and re-using baggies in my house).
And an additional bottle of water was consumed here!
For a snack I had a Key Lime flavored Greek yogurt (Oikos is my fav) 160 Calories
After work I had to go Wal-Mart so I ate another snack while shopping (Don't Judge ME!)
I Forewarned you that I am not a Calorie NAZI! It was just 140 calorie breakfast bar so ...not too bad.
For dinner we had "Chicken Fried Rice"...ish
Calories 164 for chicken, 17 per egg white, 74 per egg, 233 for a cup of instant brown rice
Calories for meal 485 ish
****Keep in Mind this is NOT a cooking BLOG****
So for my version of chicken fried rice I just boiled my 5 minute BROWN rice, stirred up two eggs and two egg whites and made them into scrambled eggs, baked chicken again, chopped. Short story - threw all of this into one pan added some soy sauce and what do you know? A healthy meal my kids eat too!!! This also had left overs that I may or may not eat for lunch tomorrow ...STAY TUNED!
We (me and Aubrey my one year old) ate a banana after dinner for a snack. Calories 110 minus 10 I am sure Aubrey ate 10 calories worth, and that's my story.
I had two more bottles of water (one with dinner and one before bed)
**** PLEASE NOTE I FORGOT TO GO BACK AND TAKE MY ADVOCARE FIBER DRINK***
I knew I would fail on some days I surely didn't think I was going to mess up on DAY 1! Oh well I said I would be transparent, folks this is as real as it gets!
Did anyone bring a calculator to this BLOG?? Fine I will add it up myself.

The Journey Begins!
I grew up Baptist. If you were not already aware, Baptist center most of their activities, fellowships and church meetings around FOOD. This proved to be a bad combination for a chubby girl. I developed bad eating habits and a worse mindset. I believed up until just a few years ago, I am chubby, I have always been this way and I will always be this way. Once I realized if you eat like a fat girl…you look like a fat girl. I was under the misconception that those who were intended to be skinny were born that way with a fierce metabolism and the rest of us well…destined to be friends with Twinkies.
There were a few things that began to shift my paradigm. I watched an interview done by Charlize Theron back in 2004 when she had made the movie Monster, and in this interview she had put on weight. Of course the interview wanted to know how this beautiful actress/model packed on thirty pounds. Her reply was a cause for deep thought. (This is not a direct quote, simply how I remember it) Something to the effect of I didn’t do what I normally would i.e. go to the gym and workout and I ate what I normally wouldn’t such as doughnuts etc. This caused me to realize if SKINNY girls ate like fat girls…they would look like fat girls do. Another contribution to my realization that people don’t have to stay looking the way they always have or eating the things they are used to was when I watched Biggest Loser. I couldn’t even believe my eyes. The amazing transformation these people have taken on is astonishing. Even more astonishing to me was the people who decided they didn’t want to continue the work it takes to stay healthy…the just put the weight right back on!!! CRAZY!
So this brings us to the here and now. I had started to just change the way I view food in addition to the way I eat food. Food at a social gathering doesn’t have to be just an excuse to eat…just to eat …because that is what we do…eat. NOW HERE IS THE DISCLAIMER. I am not calorie Nazi. I am sharing with you everything. The success and the failures…trust me there are going to be days I fail. I have to make new habits just like you. I am a routine person so every time something changes in my life; I have to discover a NEW ROUTINE!! AHHH. This may seem easy but it is difficult for me because I want to find the perfect routine for me and sometimes that takes a while.
WHEAT. I eat wheat everything, tortillas, bread, pasta etc. That way I don’t have to cut them out of my diet completely. So if/when I tell you I ate chicken fettuccini alfredo, you will now know it was wheat pasta, light alfredo sauce and baked chicken. I TRY but do not always succeed to cut out processed food. I do however still eat granola bars etc. So I haven’t found out how to fit something else in their place. Portion control – I eat smaller portions, stop when I’m full and if I have to throw away the food on my plate (so that I won’t continue eating it) PLEASE don’t tell my mom, she is very old school …you know waste not want not. Clean your plate. And it causes her great consternation to see food go to waste. HOWEVER, I truly am not my mother…usually and I had to forgo this teaching and decide better for it to rot in the trash then on my hips. WATCH my SUGAR. I just try to avoid the OBVIOUS sugar like cookies. I will indulge now and again but I look at it as a treat and not as an everyday must. If I have a choice of sugar free whatever, I usually go with that.
Water, water, water.
Veggies!!! they are a part of my everyday life. I try my best to eat fruits and vegetables DAILY! As you will see as you follow along my journey with me, some days we count as a success and well some days…epic fail. That’s just life no matter how much I try and desire perfection; I know it is always just out of my reach. I think in order to be the most successful I will need to set goals.
My 24 Day Challenge Goal is to lose 10lbs.
Strength Training Goals - Lift more than I can now!
Calorie Goal – 1500
Workout Goal – 5 days per week
Cardio Goal – 45 minutes
Blogging Goal – Daily!
Water Goal – 84 oz Daily
ULTIMATE GOAL - Lose a higher percentage of weight than my little brother! LOL So this morning I set up some time frames as I need to work on routine and since this is a new routine I have to guess at how long each thing will take me.
So to start my morning I woke up late. AH! But for the most part Garron was to school on time, I got to work out and I made it to work on time.
The hiccups in my beautifully planned out morning (aside from waking up late) were that I forgot to get my Fiber drink (part of my Advocare 24 day challenge) and the other problems come in when I so diligently packed my gym bag and didn't pack any shoes to go with the dress I was going to wear today. ANY OTHER DAY I would have just been in jeans but I was trying to keep it simple with a one item outfit. Since that outfit doesn't look good with Nike tennis shoes...well I went to work in my gym clothes. The only redeeming factor is that it gave me extra time to finish my work out. Tomorrow I will post my entire workout, food diary, water consumption and Advocare products.
